If you are considering a place at Raphael Independent School for your child from Sept 2020 then please complete the online registration form and email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We would also require a satisfactory copy of their last school report in order for them to be offered a place. Or select the ‘Information’ dropdown on our website, then ‘contact us’. Please give your child’s Date of Birth, current year group, along with your contact details and query.
Step 2: To book an Appointment for a Tour of the School
Please telephone us on 01708 744735 to book a mutually convenient date and time to view our school. The Tours are normally given by our Director of Admissions. As our switchboard is often busy, if you are unable get through, please leave a message on our answer-phone and we will get back to you at our earliest convenience.
Step 3: Register with us
You will be required to Register your child with us before we can offer an Assessment/Taster Day/Entrance Exam. This can be done by downloading a Registration form from our website or completing the Registration form included in our Prospectus pack. We will also require a £50 Registration fee, a copy of the child’s full Birth Certificate, a copy of a their latest School Report, a copy of your child’s Passport, and a copy of a recent utility bill (for proof of address).
Admission for our Reception Class and Year 1 & 2
After meeting with the Director of Admissions and having a tour, your child would be invited to attend an Assessment morning where we are able to observe their academic ability, social skills and behaviour. If your child meets our criteria then an offer of a place is usually made within 2 days.
Please note that we only accept children in our Reception Class in the September after they have reached 4 years old.
Admission to Junior Classes (J3 – J6)
After meeting with the Director of Admissions and having a tour, your child will be required to attend an assessment morning where your child will be given an English and Maths Test to assess their levels, together with social skills and behaviour. If they reach the required levels, then an offer of a place is usually made within 2 days.
Admission to our Senior School
The Senior Entrance Exam takes place in November; re-sits take place in the January. Once the exam has been sat, the papers are marked and a decision is normally reached within one week. Please note that the £50 Registration fee applies to all pupils wishing to sit our Entrance Exam. Any further Entrance Exams after this date will be scheduled for a Tuesday or a Thursday where possible.
New Pupil Day
All new pupils joining in September are invited to our New Pupil Day which takes place at the end of June/1st week of July. New Reception children come in just for the morning session. All of our pupils here move up a class for the day. This gives new pupils the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the school, meet their teachers and the pupils in their new class. Meetings are also held on the day for new parents, so that we may convey helpful information about our school.
