Opportunity to excel
Junior school pupils thrive in a environment which focuses on development and preparation for senior school.
Our multicultural junior school allows children to develop from their initial education to preparing for a diverse experience at senior school. Pupils are encouraged to learn both inside and outside the classroom. Previous trips include the National Gallery, British Museum and Le Touquet.
The Junior Department caters for children in years 3 - 6. The curriculum is based on National guidelines for Key Stage 2, and all pupils in Year 6 take the Key Stage 2 tests each May.
The curriculum in the Junior Department offers a wide range and varied approach to subject teaching. Several subjects are taught by specialist teachers, with progress in these subjects being monitored by the class teacher. The pupils are taught in small groups for several subjects.
We place a strong emphasis on English and Maths, both of which are taught daily. Homework is set every night and the pupils are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning.
